Ho do I make a pet adoption contract legal where I can take the pet back if they do not abide by the contract?

You will need to have the agreement signed by both you and the adopter. Then you will need to have it notarized. The contract will need to state what the stipulations are for you “repossessing the dog( i.e. failure to neuter/spay, failure to provide proof of vaccinations, etc.) Each item will need to be stated and you and the adoptive parent will need a copy for each of you. Make sure you put a set date for them to have the animal fixed and vaccinated, you will need to state that if for any reason they decide they do not want the animal it must be returned to you (be sure to state you name so the contract is clear and concise). That way you can take it to court if you need to.
