Dogs are social creatures. They like to be with their families and included in activities and daily life. Being a responsible dog owner means teaching your dog to be a good house pet and a good canine citizen, and putting in the time and effort to make him a part of the family.

It's baffling why some people get dogs, only to stick them outside on a chain to live their entire lives outside without human contact. This is physically and mentally cruel. Imagine how bored you would be if you were stuck all alone with nothing to do, day after day!

Just e-mail saying:
We are really interested in adopting little fluffy(or whoever) & would like to know more about him/her.
-They will ask what you want to know...in your case, I'd ask if the puppy was leash trained, & how it was doing with house training. Is it fostered? Are they crate training? Ask whatever you want to know.

They'll e-mail you back with info & send an adoption application asking you about your living conditions, expectations, etc. Some rescue organizations will actually send someone to your house for a "home visit". If you & your family are right for this dog, you will get it. E-mail them soon!
Good luck!

Just be polite and explain in detail what you feel. Mention the house, tell them anything you think they will need to know, and feel confident when typing it. Look it over more than once and make sure you have all that you need in the email. I emailed a few people on there before. If the puppy is available, and you show real interest in it....all should go well. Don't wait. Do it asap. If they say call someone, or if they want to meet you...do it. I had to call 2 people for one of my dogs. 1st was an email though. Just go along with what you feel is best. Good Luck. I hope all goes well. =)
